Each year, St. Anne's Altar Society hosts a Mother-Daughter Banquet for all the ladies of the parish. An enjoyable evening is held, complete with a meal and various games or activities. The Mother-Daughter Banquet is usually held at the beginning of May.
First Holy Communion for second grade children who have been prepared is traditionally held on the first Sunday in May. The First Communicants sit together at Mass, may read the Scripture readings and petitions, and are part of the offertory procession. After they have received their first communion, the children take part in the May Crowning procession. The children bring flowers and a crown to the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, marking the start of May, the month dedicated to Our Lady. Following Mass, a reception is held in the parish hall.
At the conclusion of each school year, usually the third Sunday in May, the participants in the PSR Program are recognized for their achievements at the end of Sunday Mass. Following Mass, a pizza party is held for all the the PSR students and teachers.
Usually held on the first Sunday in October, the Chicken BBQ has been a tradition at St. Stephen's for many years. Held by the Knights of Columbus Council 8089 and the St. Stephen's Parish Family, chicken is cooked on the church grounds the morning of the barbeque. Those who purchase dinners have the options of picking up their meals to go via a drive-through or dining in the parish hall. The meals are complete with a homemade dessert, provided by the ladies of the parish.
During October, an eye catching display of pink and blue flags is set up on the church grounds. Sponsored by the Respect Life Program, the display features pink and blue flags equal to the number of babies lost to abortion in one twenty-four hour period. This display has brought about great prolife conversations and is a wonderful prolife presence during the Respect Life Month.
Held in early December of each year, the Cookie Walk held by St. Anne's Altar Society offers the opportunity to choose and purchase Christmas cookies, candies, and other treats. Cookies are sold by the pound, so visitors and pick and choose any combination of treats! Be sure to mark your calendars for this festive occasion!
St. Anne's Altar Society's Basket Raffle is held in December of each year. Baskets full of various prizes and following a variety of themes are donated by individuals as well as local businesses. Tickets can be purchased during the weeks leading up to the Cookie Walk, and the drawing is held at the conclusion of the Cookie Walk.
A few weeks before Christmas, St. Stephen's hosts a potluck dinner for the parish. Following the dinner, the PSR students present a Christmas program, complete with Christmas carols, for the entire parish. Mark your calendars for this event for the whole parish!
