The Servite Rosary is prayed at 12:00 noon on Fridays in the adoration chapel for the intentions of the St. Monica Society. All are encouraged to attend and pray for these intentions.
The St. Monica Society of St. Stephen Parish
Who is it for?
The St. Monica Society is for anyone, male or female, who has a child, grandchild, niece or nephew, parent, cousin, friend, or acquaintance who has fallen away from the Catholic Church or who is in danger of losing their faith.
What is the St. Monica Society?
It is simply a prayer group under the patronage of St. Monica and with a special devotion and appeal to Our Sorrowful Mother. The mission of the St. Monica Society is to pray a daily prayer for fallen away Catholics. The members will also pray the Servite Rosary in the adoration chapel at 12:00 noon on Fridays. We pray for those whose names have been entered in our intentions book as well as for parents who find their children leaving the Church and especially for the young people who are being drawn away from the Church.
To find out more about the St. Monica Society and to sign up or to present prayer requests, please visit the table at the back of church near the Divine Mercy picture.
Note: Prayer packets have been sent to those who have already signed up. The Prayer for Fallen Away Catholics has also been copied into a prayer card form to make it easier to keep in a prayer book. Please feel free to take the prayer cards whether you are a member or not.
New members and prayer intentions will be accepted at any time. Just fill out the forms on the St. Monica Society display table. Those who sign up for membership will receive a mailing with the following items:
-Prayer for Fallen Away Catholics
-Prayers to St. Monica
-Servite Rosary meditations and format
-Seven Sorrows Devotion explanation and promises
